Welcome
to OROGENETICS... Upon returning to Austin, Texas in 1995, this word was employed in variety of ways, of which I associate with false starts, attempted projects and pseudo organizations - of which included the early participation of such people as John Grzinich, Seth Nehil, Josh Ronsen and tangentially Olivia Block, among others. Thus establishing the ephemeral nature of the topic (one can still find the debris of this on an old server - have a look here - with which I carry over some images). Later when moving to Europe in the 2001, the word was used occasionally as a reference and as a concept among a series of important collaborators who shared a will to understand further the poetic implications of our intuitive approaches to sound and creativity including such folks as Hitoshi Kojo (see also Octpia and our Kodama project) Yannick Dauby (see also Kalerne and our Entralacs project) as well as platform for the music of Loren Chasse, Theodore Holdt, Seijiro Murayama and Johannes Dimpflmeier. Now, 2008, I wish to resuscitate the word to pay some homage to my fundamental inspirations regarding geology and geography, but as well my fascination of sound as a transportive device weaving both the external and internal worlds. A process that has carried through various permutations of personal experience—a perpetual approach since 14+ years. I am not certain what might happen here - but I hold a place for it to happen.
