papierfabrieken van huizingen
during the last few months in belgium i had the pleasure to become friends of the folks behind [canard sauvage, nothing out there, przewalski's horses, the waste & the trees] aurélie brouet & constantin dubois – we decided to find locations within which we could use the existing ambience, resonace and spirt to play. on each thursday we had the idea to find new locations, but finally we ended up primarily returning to one abandoned papermill south of brussels ‘papierfabrieken van huizingen’.
a wonderful ready-made installation – bizarre leftovers – and mysterious large sounds. the initial idea was to record sounds for the ‘alchemical moonshine still’ and the ‘land of the bear’s stomach’ for the film REDBELLY with which i am still doing the sound-design. but finally we returned also simple for playing within the strange ambiance.
