first half 2010 report
harsh winter to intense summer
Sitting now in a heat wave in Berlin and thinking back to the frozen winter – I realize that the last six months was so busy and productive that my reports on orogenetics have more or less slowed to a stop….
Restarting (slowly) I would like report a summary of activities from the winter months until now roughly:
January - Vists of Hitoshi Kojo, Carole Kojo and Antti Tolvi over the year change. Antti and I initiated a series of shakuhachi duets and lots of nice food and times were had. This month saw the germinating seeds of MOLLUSCA (duet with Francesco Cavaliere) – as well as recordings with Jason Honea as (Sainte Maurice) – and plans to work with Manu Holterbach on a series of live performances coming up.
February - Beginning of regular practicing with Francesco Cavaliere – and some special moments in trio with Marcel Türkowsky – hunkering down to withstand the cold. A radio show was made at the ‘frozen apple tree’ – and some work with the film RedBelly…
March - premier concert of MOLLUSCA. Intensive work with filmsound. Preparing spring tours with Manu Holterbach and MOLLUSCA. First performance in Leuvan, Belgium with Manu Holterbach.
April - the volcano! Eyjafjallajokull. delaying tour start but making the skies clear and resulting in an amazing road trip from Berlin to France. Shows in Lyon, Madrid, Valencia & Barcelona with Manu Holterbach! (much wonderful moments to share!)
May – MOLLUSCA tour (geneva, vevey, vittorio veneto, milano, monza, genova, bologna, tuscania, roma, torun)
June - momentary breather – AWESOMETAPESFROMAFRICA party – recording Nina Vahlberg in Berlin and Jokkmokk – Solstice on the islands of Finland and midsummer in Jokkmokk – Veaddeacohkkar concert – North<>South travel – INTR:MUROS, Cazalla, Andelucia Spain…
July – berlin heat – vipassana sweat – and soloshow at Altes Finanzamt. Starting Grimmuseum Summer Listening Salons…
